Emory Crawford Long to Expand Midtown Campus

Monday September 8, 2008
Emory Crawford Long Hospital has announced a major expansion of its Midtown campus. The new addition, planned for West Peachtree Street, will include 125 new beds, a 137,000 square foot clinic and 75,000 square feet of new research space.

Situated close to Georgia Tech, the expansion helps to establish Midtown as a hotbed for research and development. The two institutions plan to collaborate on research efforts, combining Emory’s expertise in disease treatment with Georgia Tech’s advanced imaging and genetics programs.

Emory’s plan also includes improvements to the Clifton Road campus. The project is expected to take five years and cost $1.5 billion.
