Children's Heathcare of Atlanta Christmas Parade this Saturday

Friday December 5, 2008

This Saturday morning, the streets of Downtown will be filled with music and holiday cheer for the Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Holiday Parade. The parade will feature marching bands, dogs decked out in their holiday finery, dance groups, animated floats and, of course, Mr. Claus himself.

Grab a good spot, the parade begins at 10:30 a.m. at Peachtree Street and Ralph McGill Boulevard and heads south on Peachtree to Five Points, then west on Marietta Street and south on Centennial Olympic Park Drive.

Those driving in the downtown area should be aware of the following street closures:

  • Peachtree Street from Pine Street to Marietta Street
  • West Peachtree Street from Pine Street to Peachtree Street
  • Marietta Street from Peachtree Street to Jones Street
  • Centennial Olympic Park Drive from Harris Street to Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.

There will also be heavy traffic in the downtown area due to the SEC Championship game on Saturday afternoon.
