Grant Park Summer Shade Festival

The Summer Shade Festival in Grant Park is back this weekend, August 29 - 30, 2009. This is one of my favorite festivals of the year. It is more low-key than The Dogwood Festival, a little less crazy than Inman Park and just perfect to stroll around in one of Atlanta's most beautiful and historic parks. There are artists, music stages, family activities and fun festival food. Admission is free.

Food and wine lovers will also crave a ticket to the Corks and Forks portion of the festival. This tasting events gets you generous bites from top local restaurants along with wine or beer pairings for each station. Tickets are $35 in advance or $45 at the door.
