Springtime brings a number of opportunities to enjoy music outside - and some of them are even free of charge!
Oakhurst Jazz Nights at Scottish Rite begin tonight and continue each Thursday in April. The free outdoor concerts are held on the lawn outside The Solarium, and are moved indoors if it rains. Bring a picnic or reserve a table for $25.
Unplugged in the Park, every Sunday night from May - October at Park Tavern, is a free concert series overlooking Piedmont Park. The events attracts some serious talent, including local and up and coming artists.
Canoe, located in Vinings, holds outdoor concerts overlooking the Chattahoochee. Wednesday evenings, beginning April 13, enjoy local artists playing live from 7 - 10 p.m. out back at Canoe. The restaurant offers a menu of "River Snacks" along with signature cocktails.
Callanwolde's Jazz on the Lawn series is Friday evenings, beginning in June. The series showcases a lineup of Atlanta's jazz treasures with a mix of classic and contemporary jazz, swing, fusion, Latin and blues. Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 at the door. Picnics are encouraged!
