Cirque TentWhenever Cirque du Soleil returns to town, I start to get a lot of people asking questions about what's happening under the big tent you can see from the highway. Get ready, folks, because last weekend the iconic blue and yellow tent returned to Atlantic Station, signaling the debut of TOTEM.

Here are some fun facts about the massive tent:

  • The Big Top seats more than 2,600 people.
  • The entire site set-up takes 8 days. This includes installation of entrance, hospitality and rehearsal tents, box office, administrative offices and kitchen.
  • The Big Top stands 66 feet high and is 167 feet in diameter.
  • TOTEM travels via 64 trailers, carrying more than 1,200 tons of equipment for the tour.

This new Cirque du Soleil show tells the story of the journey of mankind. Performances run from October 26 - late December. Tickets go on sale this week.
