Yes, this is a statue of Thomas Jefferson, and one may wonder why there's a statue of the famous statesman in Georgia. The marker next to the statue explains that it is dedicated to the memory of U.S. Senator Paul Coverdell, who represented Georgia, and who dedicated his government service to the principles of liberty that Jefferson supported.
