The 2003 NBA All-Star Game will be held in Atlanta, Georgia, and the festivities are sure to bring as many stars off the court as the game will have on the court. Atlanta will become a hotbed of celebrity activity that the city hasn't seen since the 2000 Super Bowl. Move over Kobe Bryant, Yao Ming, Allen Iverson, Shaquille O'Neal, and Vince Carter. They will be fighting for attention with the likes of Sean "Puff Daddy" Combs, Christina Aguilera, Justin Timberlake, LL Cool J, and Tyra Banks, among many other celebrities who are NBA fans that will be making the trip to Atlanta. Most special events facilities have already been rented out for the weekend of the All-Star game, and there will be many clubs and bars all across Atlanta that will be holding special promotions for the big game.
The 52nd NBA All-Star Game will be held at Phillips Arena in Atlanta, February 9, 2003. The game will get underway at 8:00 pm. Leading up to the game, there will be many special events and festivities for NBA fans. This includes a NBA Jam Session, a Rookie Challenge, and the ever popular slam dunk contest. Tickets are nearly impossible to get, but you can catch all of the action on cable network TNT.
If you are trying to catch a glimpse of visiting stars in Atlanta, try Justin's, in Buckhead. The restaurant is owned by Sean "P. Diddy" Combs. Lenox Square and Phipps Plaza, also in Buckhead, is another sure bet for celebrity sightings, as the shopping mall's high end stores will attract those with money to burn. Mike Vick and Shaquille O'Neal have rented out the Woodruff Arts Center in Midtown. Vision, formerly the popular nightclub Kaya, has also been reserved. From Phillips Arena downtown to Buckhead, expect to see many limos clogging up Atlanta's roadways, and clubs and sports bars to be packed. Considering Atlanta's depressed economic outlook, Atlanta will gladly take the traffic jams in exchange for some much needed revenue that the city hopes the NBA All-Star Game will generate.
