Louvre Atlanta is a unique partnership between the Louvre museum in Paris and the High Museum of Art in Atlanta. Beginning in the fall of 2006, and continuing for the next three years, the High will have on display nine exhibitions that will include works (paintings, drawings, and decorative art) from master artists like Rembrandt and Raphael that were owned by kings. The final year will be a modern focus on the Louvre's collection, and its future.
Louvre Atlanta takes place at the newly expanded and renovated High Museum of Atlanta in Midtown. In addition to the exhibits in the Anne Cox Chambers Wing of the museum, there will be special events held in the outdoor piazza to add to the Louvre Atlanta experience.
Louvre Atlanta features nine different exhibits over a three-year period. For complete visitor information, including museum hours, ticket prices, and online ticket purchases, refer to the Plan Your Visit section of the official Louvre Atlanta Web site.
The Louvre Atlanta Web site provides information about special events related to the Louvre exhibit at the High Museum of Art, as well as an interactive, in-depth study of several of the pieces from the collection.
