Sure, you can go to your local hardware store and get a mighty fine pumpkin, but it's a lot more fun to head out to a pumpkin patch, drink some apple cider, take a hay ride, get lost in a corn maze, and browse for just the right pumpkin to sit on your stoop this Halloween. Ole McDermitt's Farm

Location: Carollton, Georgia
Highlights: Admission includes farm activities like animal encounters, a pumpkin launching station, a corn box (think sand box), a corm maze, and more.
Season: September 22 - November 4, 2012
Hours: Friday from 2:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., Saturday from 10:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m., Sunday from 1:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Pricing: $10 for adults and children, Seniors $5, children under 2 free

Pettit Creek Farm

Location: Cartersville, Georgia
Highlights: Pettit Creek has a corn maze, a petting zoo, moonwalks for the kids, and hayrides (included in admission price). On weekends, pony rides, camel rides and the Euro-Bungy are available for $5 each.
Season: September 11 - November 4, 2012
Hours: Weekdays after 2 p.m., Saturday from 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m., Sunday from 11:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Pumpkin Patch Farm

Highlights: Pumpkin Patch Farm offers a petting zoo, tractor hay rides, a hay maze and other kid-friendly activities like face painting and mini tractors to play on.

Uncle Bob's Pumpkin Patch

Location: Newnan, Georgia
Highlights: Uncle Bob's has lots of fun activities including hay rides, a corn maze, "corn guns," nature trails, and lots of animals including bees, bats, chickens, worms (ew!), and more.

Hours: Saturday from 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m., Friday and Sunday from 1:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Kinsey Family Farm

Location: Gainseville, Georgia
Highlights: This family farm offers a huge variety of pumpkins, plus hay rides, animal interactions, and lots of homemade food items for sale including honey, jams, salsas, and fresh-picked apples. Visitors are encouraged to bring their own picnic lunch.
Season: September 15 - October 31, 2012
Hours: Monday - Thursday 10:00 - 5:00, Friday 10:00 - 6:00, Saturday - Sunday 9:00 - 6:00
