Visit the Atlanta Botanical Garden from 1-4 p.m. on June 19. Enjoy live cooking demonstrations, music, crafts, games, and a ride on the Botanical Express. Dads get in for half price on Father's Day.
Dads are free during the whole month of June at Tanglewood Farms in Canton. You'll see lots of baby animals with their fathers at this miniature petting zoo.
At the American Girl store in Alpharetta, girls eight and up can make a special card for Dad for free. Drop by on June 17 from 4-6 p.m. or June 19 from 1-3 p.m. Make reservations for a Date with Dad at 11:00 a.m. on June 19. Tickets are $35 per person and include a meal, a memory book, photos, and a keepsake. This event is for girls six and up.
June 19 is Family Canoe Day at Chattahoochee Nature Center in Roswell. Ages 5 and up can practice their canoe skills from 10-11:30 a.m. The cost is $15 per person for non-members. Register at 770-992-2055, ext. 237.
Home Depot has two upcoming Saturday workshops where kids can make a great gift for Father's Day - for free! On June 4 kids ages 5-12 can make a valet organizer, and on June 18 they can make a toolbox. The workshops run from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m., and kids get a free Home Depot apron to take home.
