Easter hops into town late this year - April 24 - so there's a good chance for warm weather. Families have lots of choices for fun Easter activities with their kids on Easter weekend in Atlanta.
Callanwolde Fine Arts Center hosts an Eggstravanganza each year, an Easter egg hunt on its beautiful grounds that features thousands of eggs, a visit from the Easter bunny, games, and prizes. The price is $10 ahead of time or $12 at the door. April 23 from 10:00 a.m. - 12 noon.
Fernbank Natural History Museum offers a Dinosaur Egg Hunt free for members and included in admission prices. The fun starts at 9:00 a.m. with an inflatable dragon slide outside and continues inside at 10:00 a.m. with tattoos, Radio Disney, games, and more. Sign up ahead of time to take part in the timed, age appropriate egg hunts. April 23 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Nash Park in Hampton, GA has a great flashlight Easter egg hunt the week before Easter on April 15. Face painting, egg hunts, inflatables, and games start at 5:30. Egg hunts for ages 2-5 start at 7:00 p.m., while ages 6-12 hunt in the dark. Admission is free. April 15 from 5:30 p.m. - dark.
The Atlanta Botanical Gardens has special egg dyeing class for children. Learn what plants can make vibrant colors for Easter eggs. The cost is $6 per child plus admission to the Gardens. Saturday, April 16, 10 - 11 a.m. OR 2 - 3 p.m.; Sunday, April 17, 2 - 3 p.m.; Saturday, April 23, 10 - 11 a.m. OR 2 - 3 p.m.
Atlantic Station is the place for Easter fun on Saturday, April 23 in Central Park. Children can make crafts, play games, get their picture taken with the Easter Bunny, and win prizes. Proceeds benefit the Atlanta Humane Society. April 23 from 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Visit Stone Mountain for a non-denominational sunrise service on Easter Sunday. Choose from a service in the Memorial Hall Terrace or at the top of Stone Mountain. The service are free, but you'll pay to park ($10) and to ride the skylift up to the top ($9.00 for adults/$7.00 for kids).

Breakfast with the Easter Bunny: All Kidgits members are invited to enjoy Breakfast with the Easter Bunny catered by Chick-fil-A on Saturday, April 9, 2011 at 8:30 am in the Food Court. Enjoy the fun activities and meet the Easter Bunny. After breakfast, kids will have the opportunity to have their photo taken with the Easter Bunny in Nordstrom Court.
