Halloween gives everyone a chance to be someone else, if only for one night. Atlanta plays host to some wild Halloween parties, with costume contests, live music and more! Find an Atlanta Halloween party for 2009.

Little Five Points Halloween Festival and Parade

This annual festival is a two-day Halloween extravaganza. Friday will feature live music, street entertainment, outdoor beverage vendors and Little 5 Points restaurant and retail promotions. On Saturday, come for live music and street entertainers, a children’s area featuring pumpkin decorating, a Halloween costume contest, outdoor beverage vendors, and the festival highlight - - the not-to-be-missed Halloween street parade, at 4pm. The festival is free and open to the public.

  • When: Friday, October 16 (5 p.m. - 10 p.m.) and Saturday, October 17, 2009 (noon - 10 p.m.)
  • Where: Little Five Points, at the intersection of Moreland and Euclid Avenues

Sprialween

This yearly Halloween party is hosted by Atlanta party crew Sprial Entertainment. With a $1000 costume contest, these parties are always extreme. The event features a performance by Yacht Club plus DJ action including the entire Michael Jackson Thriller album being played from start to finish.

  • When: Saturday, October 31, 2009, 9 p.m. - 2:30 a.m.
  • Where: Park Tavern, near Piedmont Park in Midtown
  • Cost: Starts at $10, increases as Halloween approaches. Buy online.
  • 21+ only

Brouhaha Spooktacular

ROCK 100.5 and 99X.COM bring back Brouhaha Spooktacular to take over all three levels of The Masquerade for an evening full of live music, deejays, costumed freaks, and psychic readings. With cover bands playing tunes from Sublime, Pearl Jam and more, $1000 up for grabs in the costume contest a brand new haunted house and a make your own Bicardi beverage bar, there's plenty of spooky fun at this event.

  • Where: The Masquerade, 695 North Avenue, Atlanta

Scary Party 9

Join Atlanta's Wednesday Night Drinking Club crew for Scary Party 9 Halloween Bash, Atlanta's only Halloween block party, at "Twisted Taco Terror Park" in Midtown. A portion of 12th Street in the heart of Midtown will be closed down for this multi-block bash. Thriller, a Michael Jackson cover band, along with Spunk Funky & The Beat Officers, will provide tunes to keep the party dancing. There will be a $1000 costume contest.

  • When: Friday, October 31, 2009, 7 p.m.
  • Where:"Twisted Taco Terror Park," 12th Street in Midtown
  • Cost: $10 in advance or $30 at the door
  • 21+ only
