New Years Eve is a night when everyone gets decked out and celebrates with friends old and new. This list includes Atlanta's hottest New Years Eve events and parties for saying goodbye to 2013 and welcoming 2014!

Downtown Countdown at the Hyatt Regency

Party in style at the Downtown Countdown with an open bar and Atlanta's largest New Years balloon drop! Expect a diverse crowd in their mid 20's to late 30's and a mix of singles and couples. Tickets start at $99 (price increases as event approaches) and include 5 1/2 hours of open bar, buffets complete with carving stations, late night breakfast and all of the fun performances by bands, DJs and comedians. Love the dress code: formal, creative black tie, optional... kind of like MTV Music Awards. This year they are bringing in 8 party bands and DJs, plus there is a full comedy lounge. VIP packages available. The Downtown Countdown takes place at the Hyatt Regency in the heart of downtown.

The Bungalow Ball

A new lavish bash hits the ATL scene this year - The Bungalow Ball. Promising a party of Gatsy-like proportions, this New Years Eve extravaganza features a variety of musical acts and performance artists, a 5.5 hour open bar, hor d'oeuvres, a late night snack, and a champagne toast. Formal dress is encouraged, and throw in a bit of sparkle, will ya? Tickets start at $160. The Bungalow Ball will take place at 200 Peachtree.


The Peach Drop

An Atlanta classic at Underground Atlanta, watching the big peach drop is the Atlanta equivalent of the ball drop in Time Square. An entire day of family fun (carnival rides, face painting and more) starts at 11 a.m. and continues on through midnight. Headliners have not been announced yet. The Peach Drop is a free event. Marta is encouraged, exit at Five Points.

NYE in the ATL

NYE in the ATL is billed as the number one party for urban professionals and features multiple DJs, comedians, top shelf bars, live entertainment and more. NYE in the ATL actually features an entire weekend of events, with red carpet parties, a pajama poetry jam and a concert leading up to the main event. Hosted by DJs from local stations V103, Kiss104. Admission starts at $60 (includes champagne toast) and open bar admission starts at $100. Packages including all the weekend parties are available. NYE in the ATL takes place at the Crowne Plaza Ravinia Hotel in Dunwoody.

Wish Masquerade Ball at Whiskey Park

Whiskey Park at the W Midtown is throwing a masquerade bash - how glam! The intimate affair of only a a few hundred guests ensures you'll never be fighting throngs of thousands to get to the bar, plus the hotel setting makes it easy to get home safely - just shack up in one of the well appointed rooms! Open bar packages are available starting at $125. Formal dress and masks are encouraged.

Cleopatra's 2014 New Years Ball

Celebrate New Year's Eve in the fabulous Fox Theatre's Eqyptian Ballrooms. With DJs spinning top tunes, premium open bars and a laser light show, this all night party is sure to be one for the ages! Tickets start at $119.


A Social Mess New Years 2014

Join Buckhead's rowdiest party crew, A Social Mess, for an all out night of New Years Eve debauchery. Billed as "The World’s Greatest Most Fantastic Super Duper Anti-hotel New Year’s Eve Gala Extravaganza in the Universe. Ever," expect this party to get out of control. Join the fun at The Buckhead Theatre starting at 8 p.m. Open bar tickets are $95.


New Years Eve at Opera

Opera is a top party destination throughout the year, so of course they throw down at New Years. Purchase tickets for the gourmet dinner, an open bar package, or a VIP tickets with a special party area. Tickets start at just $25 or $60 for the open bar. Ladies get special discounts!
