If you are looking for a fun, cheap activity to do with your kids this summer, head to the Roswell Cultural Arts Center for the Roswell Summer Puppet Series. Nationally-acclaimed puppeteers perform Monday-Saturday at 10:00 a.m. and Wednesdays and Fridays at 1:00 p.m.
The shows are quirky and creative, with puppeteers who often make the puppets themselves out of found objects. The stories are usually fresh takes on familiar tales, filled with lots of kid-pleasing humor. Most of the performers demonstrate how the puppets work and explain the different types of puppets. After the show, kids can come up to the stage to get a closer look or ask a question.
Tickets cost $5.00 for adults and $4.00 for children. If you want to purchase a puppet craft kit, you can for an additional $4.00. Buy tickets online or at the door.
The shows are intended for ages 2-12, but most of the audience will be on the younger side. That means the shows can be loud with lots of little voices and babies crying, but you won't have to worry too much if your child doesn't speak in a whisper.
