Atlanta has a one-of-a-kind attraction in World of Coca-Cola, a museum filled with the appeal and nostalgia of Coke. If you haven't been since its Underground Atlanta days, take the family for a fun, if pricey, activity. Kids will love the 4D movie, the commercials, and most of all, the unlimited tasting room.
It's fun, but is it affordable? The price for a family of four including tickets and parking is $66 - quite a bit for a 90-minute outing. And World of Coke coupons are hardly ever available. However, there are ways to make your visit to World of Coca-Cola a little easier on the wallet.
1. Sign up for the newsletter on the World of Coca-Cola website.
There's no direct link, but you can enter your email in the upper right corner. From time to time, Coke will send out discount codes and BOGO offers for tickets and memberships.
2. Enter codes from Coke products at www.mycokerewards.com.
If you drink a lot of Coke or Diet Coke like I do, enter the codes from the products into the reward website. Save your codes until a double point day, and you'll earn tickets even sooner. It took me about a year to earn two adult tickets, but I wasn't in a hurry to go and was happy to save the $32.
3. Buy a CityPass.
You only have nine days to use this pass from the first attraction you visit, but if you are planning a staycation for spring break or summer, consider a CityPass. $69 for adults and $49 for kids will get you into five of the following venues: Georgia Aquarium, World of Coca-Cola, Imagine It!, the CNN Studio, Fernbank Natural History Museum, the Atlanta History Center, Zoo Atlanta, and the High Museum. It's a huge savings over purchasing tickets separately.
4. Buy a Pemberton Place pass.
The Georgia Aquarium is located at Pemberton Place, along with World of Coca-Cola. You can buy a pass for both venues and use them on the same day. You'll only save about $2.00 per person, but if you are planning to visit both on the same day, you'll save a little.
5. Buy an ABC Pass.
If you'd like to visit World of Coca-Cola on the same day you take the "Inside the CNN Studio" tour, you can save $4.00 per person with this combo pass.
6. Go with a group.
If you have a group of 25 or more, you can save $1.00 per adult and $2.00 per child. The tickets need to be purchased in one transaction.
7. Bring a member of the military.
Active and retired members of the Armed Forces with a military ID will get in for free. They may not purchase tickets for others.
8. Don't pay for parking.
On weekdays and Sundays, you may be able to find street parking or a cheaper garage if you don't mind walking. You can take MARTA to stop W1 (Dome/GWCC/Philips Arena/CNN Center) or N1 (Peachtree Center) and walk about 10 minutes.
