Zoo Atlanta and Public Libraries Offer Free Tickets for Families

By

Zoo Atlanta has teamed up with public libraries to offer free family tickets to Georgia residents. Once available only to Fulton County residents, now all 159 counties in Georgia can participate. You can "check out" two adult and two child tickets once per year, per household. Here's how it works.

1. Go to your local library.

You must be an adult with a valid library card.

2. Check out the Zoo Atlanta Family Pass DVD.

Each branch has one DVD, and you can't reserve it or put it on hold. Call before going or check the online catalog to see if the DVD is available. The DVD can only be checked out at the full service counter.

3. Return the DVD to get a receipt, which will be your ticket.

Return it as soon as possible so other families can get the DVD. You should be able to check it out and return it on the same visit to get your ticket instantly.

4. Go to Zoo Atlanta.

You have seven days from the time the receipt is issued to visit the zoo, so plan strategically. Additional children and adults pay full price.

Due to the popularity of this program, it may take patience to find the DVD checked in. But when you do, you'll have a great time at Zoo Atlanta for free!
