By , About.com Guide

Sometimes scary can be so much fun. Find the scariest haunted houses in Atlanta for Halloween shrieks!

Netherworld

Open throughout October, Netherworld is consistently rated among the scariest haunted houses in not only Atlanta but the whole country! There are two terrifying trails to walk and tickets are $22 for one or $28 for both.

Atlanta Zombie Apocalypse

One of Atlanta's newest Halloween experiences, Atlanta Zombie Apocalypse recreates the feeling of being in a horror movie. The huge, 35 acre abandonded truck stop in Conley, Georgia, visitors are led by a zombie-killing guide as you explore a deserted town that's become an undead playground.

13 Stories Haunted House

13 Stories, located in Kennesaw, includes the main event - a haunted house where you worst nightmares come to life - and also Maximum Evil, where you'll find bizarre experiments gone terrifyingly wrong! Your $22 ticket covers both attractions.

13 Stories is one of the earliest haunted houses to open, with preview weekends throughout September.

Chambers of Horror

Chambers of Horror returns to The Masquerade with an extreme, adult-only haunted house every night in October. They claim three guests last year actually "wet their pants in terror." Visitors who need to calm their nerves can also grab a drink at the Splatter Lounge. The lounge, which is free, also shows horror movies and features musical performances from local bands.

Tickets to Chambers of Horror start at $17 for general admission, $27 to jump the line or $45 for VIP guests which includes a free drink and a gift. Credit cards aren't accepted at the door so you may want to buy online. Prices are a few bucks more on key dates very close to Halloween.
