Outdoor Ice Skating Rinks in Atlanta

Atlanta may be the South, but it's fun to get in the holiday spirit with a winter activities like ice skating - and yes, you can find outdoor ice skating rinks in Atlanta! There are two small but popular ice skating rinks that open up each winter season in Atlanta, Georgia.

Ice Skating at Centennial Park

Centennial Park has been home to an outdoor ice skating rink each winter for the past several years. It's a great little spot surrounded by holiday lights.

At the rink, admission is $7 for 90 minutes and you can rent ice skates for just $2 more. Lockers are also available for $1 if you need to stash your stuff during your skating session.

The rink is open daily, including holidays, from Novemver 19, 2011 – January 29, 2012. Rink hours are:

Monday - Friday from 4:30 - 10 p.m.
Saturday from 10 a.m. - 11 p.m.
Sunday from 10 a.m. - 10 p.m.

Special student rates are available ($6 with free skate rental) on the following dates: November 22 – December 14 and January 3 - January 25 on Mondays & Tuesdays.

Note: Occasionally the rink is closed due to weather or other unfortunate circumstances. Check out Centennial Park on Twitter for daily updates.

The Rink at Park Tavern

New(ish) to the Atlanta scene is The Rink at Piedmont Park - located at Park Tavern. That's right - the bonus of this rink is that you can enjoy beer or toasty holiday beverages plus rink-side dining while you skate.

Admission is $15 which includes skates. If you're a frequent skater, you can also buy a season pass for $300.

The Rink at Park Tavern is open from Thanksgiving through mid-February. Hours are:

Monday through Friday from 4:30 p.m. - Midnight
Saturday - Sunday from 10:30 a.m. - Midnight

They are also open additional hours during school holiday breaks. Check the ticketing calendar for daily schedule.

The Astor Holiday Rink at The St. Regis

Skate in style at The St. Regis on West Paces Ferry Road. Enjoy sophisticated treats like fondue, smores with flavored marshmallows and seasonal cocktails as The St. Regis transforms their outdoor plaza into a skating rink.

Skating is $30 per hour for adults and $18 per hour for children under 16.

The rink is open from November 23 until January 3, 2012. Hours are:

Monday - Friday from Noon - 9:00 p.m.
Saturday - Sunday from 11:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.
