Ideas for a First Date in Atlanta

Atlanta has been called a top city for singles, and everyone knows it's important to impress with a great first date. From romantic restaurants to seeing some classic Atlanta attractions, check out some ideas for memorable first dates in Atlanta.

Atlanta Restaurants for First Dates

Atlanta has no shortage of restaurants - from classic steak houses to hip, new intown spots.

If you're looking to impress with a tried-and-true spot, try one of Atlanta's best romantic restaurants. Scattered across town from Buckhead to Decatur, there are lots of options. These cozy spots are great for candlelight, have an atmosphere that's sure to impress and will show your date you know your Atlanta dining.

Another great date options is tapas. The small plates are meant for sharing, so it will let you explore things you both love, showcase your own food favorites and try new things together. Atlanta has many great tapas restaurants at all different price levels - some casual and some swanky.

Dinner and a Movie

Classic date, right? Dinner and a movie. Only, in Atlanta you do dinner and a movie with a twist!

There are a few different options for dine-in movie theaters - yep, you can actually eat dinner and watch your movie at the same time. Check out Fork and Screen or Cinebistro, both in the Buckhead area.

Another idea for a non-traditional dinner and a movie? Check out Martinis and IMAX at Fernbank. Each Friday night, head to Fernbank for an evening of fun, flavored martinis, live music and an IMAX on the big screen. You can get dinner at Fernbank or grab something nearby (try Decatur) before you head to the show - but be sure to get there early (or plan to stay late) to enjoy the specialty drinks, music and dancing.

Take in Some Art

Show off your cultured side by taking your date to one of Atlanta's art museums. If you're hitting the town on a weeknight, keep in mind that The High is open late on Thursdays and even has half-priced admission after 4 p.m.. They also host many other evening events with live music, wine and other date-worthy happenings.

Another idea is to hit up one of the many monthly neighborhood art walks around town. You'll find popular ones in Castleberry Hill and on the Westside. At these events, you can often grab dinner at food trucks - a fun and casual date idea. Plus, many galleries give out complimentary wine.
