Chef Mary Moore of The Cook’s Warehouse and Nancy Lutz of Affairs to Remember will show you how to create a delicious holiday spread with treats like Glazed Apple & Pecan filled Brie; Roasted Chicken Roulade with Spinach, Feta, and Black Olives and lemon cream cheese pound cake. Become an expert on wine and cheese pairings before your holiday party. Attend Atlanta Wine School’s Wine and Cheese course and sample top quality wines and cheeses and learn which wines pair best with cheese. You'll also learn proper serving arrangements and temperatures for pairings. The class is $50 per person and is held at Atlanta Wine School in Roswell.

Travel to a dreamy, snow-laden countryside to meet Sam, a newly built, innocent snowman who falls in love with a stove. Sam the Lovesick Snowman, a hilarious and heartwarming children’s tale based on the classic Hans Christian Anderson story “The Snow Man,” plays November 20, 2008 – January 4, 2009 in the Center for Puppetry Art’s Downstairs Theater.

Kickoff SEC Championship weekend with the SEC coaches luncheon. Nick Saban of Alabama and Urban Meyer of Florida will preview the upcoming match-up for their lunchtime audience and provide thoughts and analysis on the season as well as their quests for the SEC Championship. Tickets are $30 each.

Race in to the holidays at Atlanta Motor Speedway with a family festival featuring crafts and games for children, photos with Santa, a Santa shop and entertainment. An auction with a variety of holiday items up for bidding, including baskets, wreaths, trees, travel packages and other more will benefit Speedway Children’s Charities.
Get some holiday shopping done at the High Museum’s Holiday Craft Show. A select group of Atlanta’s outstanding craftspeople will set up their wares in the museum. Shop for distinctive world arts from textiles and works on paper to contemporary jewelry. Visitors can meet these artisans and even perhaps commission a one-of-a-kind piece. The show is from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. in the Robinson Atrium.

Escape the mall and bring the kids to meet Santa at the beautifully decorated Rhodes Hall. The whole family will enjoy holiday music, arts and crafts, storytelling, and refreshments while an authentic “Old World Santa” listens to your child’s wish list. $30 family admission covers entertainment, refreshments, and a color photo with Santa. Enjoy a humorous take on the holidays as Agatha's Mystery Theater presents The Nut Croaker Ballet: Murder on Your Toes (November 6 – January 14). The Kudzu Ballet is performing The Peanutcracker, a Southern version of the holiday classic. Kitty and Bubba Vanderpeterbilt are hosting the opening night gala at the new Corn Cobb Arts Center. But, before you can say corpse de ballet, a killer is turning toe shoes into toe tags! Top GBI agent Bulldog Twinkletoes Turner is called on pointe to match splits with the killer. Shows nightly.

Legend Ted Turner will host a lecture and book signing at the Carter Center for his book, Call Me Ted. Always forthright, he tells you what makes him tick and what ticks him off, and delivers an honest account of what he's all about. Inspiring and entertaining, Call Me Ted sheds new light on one of the greatest visionaries of our time. The 7:30 p.m. event is free and open to the public.
