Door 44 burst in to Midtown in 2008, bringing a new, upscale punk-rock atmosphere to the scene. Billed as an "elegant with an edge ultraclub," Door 44 is all about the sex appeal.
What to Expect:
Door 44 is not for the faint of heart, this is full on, in your face sexiness. The entire lounge is decked out in black and red, luscious leathers, snakeskin and red roses. All around the upper dance floor, dancers clad in short shorts and tiny tanks shake and show off their assets, go-go style.
This club is for biker chick rockers (or anyone who wants to play one for the evening) who still like to dress up and party in a chic environment. Don't worry about being intimidated by the clientele,Door 44 also attracts typical Midtown types who are looking for a good time in one of the city's swankest settings. Its the type of place where you wouldn't be surprised to bump in to a celebrity, but you're more likely to bump in to the 20-to-30-somethings in designer denim who inhabit Midtown's lofty high-rise condos. Either way, this is where everyone goes to party like a rockstar, if only for the night.
The music is loud, as you'd expect from a rockin' club like this one, and the dance floor gets crowded. The VIP area is open to the main lounge (behind the velvet ropes, of course), so you cancatch a glimpse of the high rollers for the night. Upstairs or downstairs, you'll find high-energy dance tunes on multiple floors. The patio (covered in winter) provides a welcome escape in the Atlanta night with intimate seating and an outdoor bar.
Guest DJ's visit almost every weekend and Door 44 is the new king of special guests and events. From punk rock karaoke to spice up a Monday to lingerie fashion shows on a Saturday night, this place is blowing the top off the Atlanta club scene almost every day of the week with an always-changing event schedule.
