Gather the girls, round up the boys or meet new friends on a night out in Atlanta's Midtown district. The area is home to a variety of bars and clubs where friends can share a drink. Bring cash for parking and spend the rest of the night on foot. The locations here are in the area of Crescent Avenue and Piedmont Avenue between 11th Street and 14th Street.

Cosmo/Lava is two Midtown hot spots in one. Boasting three levels and five bars, everyone can find the atmosphere that’s right for them on one of the many dance floors or chilling out on the patio. Keep in mind the dress code: no athletic gear, hats, tennis shoes, shorts or flip-flops in this sophisticated establishment.

Front Page News

Stop by for dinner to enjoy Cajun and creole creations, and stay for the lively bar, live music and poker nights. Friendly bartenders inside and a lush, tropical patio outside make Front Page News a comfortable hangout and a great place to start the night. Open until midnight on Thursdays and 1 a.m. Friday and Saturday.

Opera

1150 Peachtree St. (entrance off Crescent Ave)
Opera is one of Atlanta’s largest nightclubs, with an always-full dance floor, red velvet drapes and gilded gold. Step outside for a drink in the relaxing zen garden. With an atmosphere of “DJ’s, dance and decadence,” Opera aims to provide the ultimate in Midtown nightlife in a multi-level, big city experience unlike any other in town. This is a favorite for bachelorette parties!

Steamhouse Lounge

1051 W Peachtree St. NW
Steamhouse Lounge, previously located in Buckhead, is a hole-in-the-wall oyster bar and late night lounge serving up hot, fresh seafood until midnight and cold beers until 2:30 a.m. every day except Sundays. This comfortable, casual atmosphere features indoor and outdoor bars and plays host to an annual Oysterfest with 40,000 oysters.

Sutra

1136 Crescent Ave.
Sutra Lounge, voted one of the Top 100 nightclubs in the United States by Restaurant and Nightclub magazine, was recently complete remodeled in stylish and seductive deep red and gold curtains and has an amazing outdoor patio. Sutra is a smaller, more intimate club with a popular dance floor with an eclectic mix of DJs to get the party started.

Deadwood Saloon

66 12th St. (former Twisted Taco location)
Deadwood Saloon offers cheap margaritas, Tex-Mex and bar eats, and a DJ into the night. Open until 3 a.m. daily (midnight on Sundays), this is one of the latest spots you’ll find to party. This high-energy bar and restaurant has a large outdoor patio in both the front and the back to enjoy a balmy Atlanta night and two levels indoors where the party picks up. Check their website for daily events, including poker on Friday and Saturday.

Whiskey Park

Located in the W Hotel at 188 14th St.
Located in the swanky new W Hotel, Whiskey Park is a chic bar and lounge where Atlantans can see and be seen. Dramatic decor and an elite vibe make this new addition to the Midtown bar scene a must-try spot. Though signature cocktails are a bit pricey, the delicious concoctions are worth it. The small dance floor in the bar heats up around midnight, and you'll need to reserve a spot if you want to sit at one of the tables or lounge on the couches.

Flip Flops

1140 Crescent Ave NE
Ever wish there was a beach bar in the middle of land-locked Atlanta? Flip Flops is your spot! With a tiki bar and plenty of frozen drinks, Flip Flops will transport you right back to spring break. With two levels and a large deck, you can choose your party atmosphere. Flip Flops often has live music. Open Wednesday - Saturday from 7 p.m. - 3 a.m..
