Guide Review
Egg Harbor Cafe is light, bright, and warm, with chickens and roosters on the wall and carafes of water with lemon slices on the tables. On a weekend morning, you may have to wait for table, but pour yourself a cup of the excellent complimentary coffee and start looking over the menu. You'll likely need the extra time.
Egg Harbor's menu has separate sections for Benedicts, Scramblers, Omelettes, Frittatas, Crepes, Griddle, Scramblers, Egg-Cetera, Sandwiches, and Soups. The spicy San Antonio skillet with potatoes, chorizo sausage, eggs, and Pepper Jack Cheese for $8.95 was a highlight. For a healthier meal, try Joe's Healthy Scrambler. Three no-cholesterol eggs are filled with turkey sausage, spinach, mushrooms, onions, and low-fat mozzarella ($8.95). The CAPS Supreme (also $8.95) is another delicious choice: mushroom caps, grilled perfectly, are filled with bacon, spinach, and cheese, and served with eggs, potatoes, and an English muffin.
Children get colored pencils and a placemat with games and the kids' menu. The kids' menu has 14 breakfast and lunch items, and the meals start at $3.95 and include a drink. Kids can choose from (real) green eggs and ham, rainbow pancakes, omelettes, chicken fingers, and more. The Breakfast of Champions is a great choice for a really hungry kid: for $5.95, get rainbow pancakes, eggs, bacon, and sausage.
The service at Egg Harbor is friendly and efficient. Two meals were missing items, but when we told our server, she quickly corrected the errors.
Egg Harbor Cafe is a welcome addition to Atlanta breakfast and brunch options.
