Guide Review - Canoe Restaurant
Canoe has been a long-time favorite of mine when I have the chance to get together with a group of friends or family for a celebration. Several trips over the years have resulted in many happy memories, as I'm sure is common with many other Atlantans. Canoe consistently attracts the crowds for special occasions, yet their impeccable service never fails to make you feel like they only have eyes for you.
The menu changes seasonally, highlighting fresh flavors and interesting combinations that you won't find elsewhere in Atlanta. Keeping with the upscale lodge vibe of the dining room, you'll often find game meats featured. At Canoe I always try to taste something new and I've had the pleasure of experiencing a variety of uncommon dishes like ostrich medallions, venison (a favorite of mine), duck and the Slow Roasted Carolina Rabbit, a usually present and popular menu item. Canoe also offers items like fish and steaks for the less adventurous diner, but if you are thinking of trying something new, this is the place to take a chance. You will be hard-pressed to find better versions of their offerings, and their classic style is ideal for beginner foodies.
Canoe is open for lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch and is a popular business lunch destination for local movers and shakers. The convenient Vinings location makes it easily accessible from most parts of the city.
Request a table on the glass-covered patio for tranquil views of rolling gardens and the mighty Chattahoochee River.
