Atlanta Steakhouses

Steak Restaurants in Atlanta, Georgia

By , About.com Guide

Sometimes you're just craving a well cooked steak, and Atlanta has several wonderful restaurants serving traditional steakhouse fare. Here are some of our favorite Atlanta spots to sink your teeth into a juicy steak.

Kevin Rathbun Steak

Nestled in the Inman Park warehouse district, the dining room at Rathbun Steak is anything but industrial. You'll find a low-lit (seriously, the waiters carry flashlights), intimate dining room with rich interiors and a classic steakhouse vibe and a modern menu that will wow you.

Start with one of the many innovative appetizers (no Texas Cheese Fries here) before diving in to the main attraction - some of the best steaks you'll ever try. While there are several cuts to choose from, it's hard to resist the Dry Aged Steak for Two (or Three!). Steaks can be served with your choice of accompanying sauces or butters. Sides are a la carte and served family style. A large seafood selection is also available.

Bones

Bones has been a fixture on the Atlanta steakhouse scene for over 30 years, often seen as a spot where big business deals are sealed over a long lunch of thick steaks and a drink or two. The Buckhead restaurant offers up classic dishes including steak and other grilled meats, the expected sides and even a few sandwich options at lunch. Bones is a safe bet for any steak lover in Atlanta.

Chops

Chops may call themselves a lobster bar, but the steaks are always the most memorable part of the meal. Surf and turf, anyone? With a vibe that evokes days gone by, Chops is the ideal Buckhead location for a traditional steak dinner. With a large selection of fresh seafood, including a popular shellfish tower on ice, and all the best cuts of USDA Prime Aged beef, Chops serves up the best of land and sea. Steakhouse sides include nine varieties of potato and a variety of veggies, served family style.

The Palm

Traveling steak connosiuers no doubt know that in a pinch, you can always count on The Palm to satiate your appetite for steak. The classic 1960s' steakhouse with locations around the country has an Atlanta outpost that will fill you with the traditional American comfort food that steak lovers crave. Jumbo shrimp cocktail, Aged USDA Prime beef and buttery lobster give you just what you expect, with few twists, but sometimes that's all you need in a steakhouse.

Ruth's Chris

Another Atlanta steakhouse familiar to many across the country is Ruth's Chris. With four Atlanta-area locations, a your next steak dinner (or lunch) is never too far. With steak, potatoes, vegetables, and everything with gobs of melted butter, Ruth's Chris is a solid choice for a classic steak experience.
