Restaurants and Bars in Brookhaven

By , About.com Guide

Atlanta's Brookhaven neighborhood, conveniently located just north of the Lenox Mall area, has been growing in to one of Atlanta's most vibrant neighborhoods. Below you'll find information on some of the many restaurants and bars in the Brookhaven area.

Restaurants in Town Brookhaven

TOWN Brookhaven, one of the area's newest developments, is home to a number of different dining options that range from casual to a bit nicer.

There are a few highlights in TOWN Brookhaven. For a night out with friends, try the tapas restaurant Noche, where you can sip margaritas and share small plates. You'll also find Baci, a new concept from the folks behind the well-loved Cafe a Pharr. Baci is an Italian restaurant, but the menu isn't just your typical pasta - there is a diverse of entrees with European influence. Don't forget about the Atlanta favorite, Flying Biscuit - they are known for their breakfast, but I'd eat those grits any time of day! Newk's Express Cafe is a popular choice for a quick lunch. Their menu includes sandwiches, salads, and pizzas - plus some yummy desserts.

Also in TOWN Brookhaven:

  • Moe's Southwest Grill
  • Bua Thai and Sushi
  • Stir Crazy
  • Olde Blind Dog
  • Marble Slab
  • Tre'za Pizza and Salads
  • Olive Bistro
  • Swirll
  • Which Wich
  • The Cup (cupcakes)
  • There Brookhaven (bar and pub)

Noteable Neighbhorhood Restaurants

Brookhaven has emerged as an up and coming spot for local restauranteurs to open new spots. Several well-liked restaurants have popped up in the neighborhood, including these favorites.

Valenza Italian Restaurant is a cozy cafe with an upscale menu in the traditional Italian format - first course pasta dishes and hearty, meaty entrees. The pasta dishes, particularly the butternut squash ravioli, earn high marks here.

Haven is the sister restaurant of Valenza, and also has many loyal fans. The menu at Haven is rustic but refined American dishes with entrees clocking in around the $20 - $27 mark, and a large selection of lower-priced small plates.

Kaleidoscope, a gastropub, is another popular spot in Brookhaven. Chow down on moderately priced bistro fare like steak frites, shrimp and grits, or a meatball hoagie as you down a beer from the massive bar. The exposed brick walls and warm wood, and lots of natural light make the dining room feel comfortable and modern.

Looking for a healthy breakfast or lunch? Head over to Brookhaven Bistro, a local favorite serving a large breakfast menu and a lunch menu of salads, healthy sandwiches, and a few entrees. They also have a juice bar.

CineBistro

One of Brookhaven's more interesting dining and entertainment options is CineBistro. It is a movie theater where you can enjoy a full menu of food and drink during the movie (similar to Buckhead's Fork and Screen, but a bit swankier). The menu is substantial and plenty fancy to impress your date (bacon wrapped dates followed by a nice seared tuna steak, anyone?!). They even offer a brunch menu. You must arrive 30 minutes before the show to get your order started.
