Shopping for a wedding dress can be one of the most special experiences in a girl's life. We weigh in on some Atlanta area bridal shops and tell you what you can expect.
Bridals by Lori
Bridals by Lori is one of the most well known bridal shops in Atlanta, and has had a boost of fame due to being featured on TLC's Say Yes to the Dress. Located in Sandy Springs, Bridal's by Lori has a wide range of styles. Their prices start a bit on the higher end, so while there are many price levels to choose from, it may not be the place for a budget bride.
Here you'll find a bridal experience like many ladies expect - lots of mirrors, your own runway to model on, room after room of dresses and knowledgable consultants that get down to business. Many brides have had great experiences at Bridal's by Lori. In my own personal experience, I preferred a smaller, more personal shop, but this is a must-see spot on the wedding gown circuit.
Wedding Angels
Wedding Angels, located in Historic Roswell, feels like walking into the home of your Southern best friend. The consultants are chatty and outgoing, and there is a seating area with pink lemonade and cookies. Wedding Angels carries a wide variety of designers and has a pretty affordable price range (keeping in mind we are talking about wedding gowns here!), with many dresses ringing in around $1,000 or less.
They offer in-house alterations and will hold your wedding dress there for you until just before big day, when it will be pressed and ready. Wedding Angels also carries bridesmaids and mother-of-the-bride attire.
Based on my own experience and that of several friends, Wedding Angels gets my vote for best wedding dress shop in Atlanta.
Bel Fiore Bridal
Bel Fiore Bridal is located in the Marietta/East Cobb. They offer a low-key bridal boutique experience. Each bride is given silk flowers to carry around the shop and place on dresses they are interested in. Your personal consultant will then pick up the dresses and prepare them in a dressing room. Once the consultant has an idea of what you are looking for, they will also assist in pulling dresses for you.
Bel Fiore is a medium-sized shop with a mid-level price range to match. There are some good bargains to be had here.
Quick Tip: Bel Fiore and Wedding Angels are only about 10 minutes away from each other, so you can make appointments to visit both in one day.
Kelly's Closet
Kelly's Closet is a unique bridal shopping experience nestled in Candler Park. They carry many hard-to-find designers like Claire Pettibone and Jenny Packham, but selection varies so if you're looking for something specific it is best to ask when you call for an appointment.
The bridal salon is very intimate and couches provide a comfortable area for your bridal entourage to lounge. You walk the showroom and pick out your own dresses. The selection is small but very well curated - this is the perfect shop for an Atlanta bride who is looking for something different.
The selection trends toward high end so keep that in mind when it comes to your budget.
David's Bridal
Everyone knows about David's Bridal - and they have several locations in the Atlanta area - but what you might not know is that they've stepped up their game. The shop, known for great value, now offers higher end lines (still a bargain compared to many bridal gown designers) and in 2011 debuted the White by Vera Wang line.
David's Bridal is also a great resource for Atlanta brides that are coordinating bridesmaids across the country. With a huge selection of bridesmaid's dresses, it's easy to pick a style and have your girls near and far stop by a local location and try it on for size.
