Atlanta Shopping Malls

Atlanta has a lot to offer for avid shoppers. From large, affordable shops to upscale options, Atlanta shopping malls have something for everything. Here's some information on Atlanta's malls, including tips on what I like about each one.

Lenox Square

Department Stores: Bloomingdales, Macy's, Neiman Marcus

What's to Love: Lenox Mall is a well-rounded shopping destination, with a mix of chic shops for those with some cash to burn as well as a lot of mall staples like Macy's, American Eagle and Sephora. The designer stores are enough to satisfy and provide fun window shopping, but the variety means that no one will feel they are out of their element.

Phipps Plaza

Department Stores: Nordstorms, Saks Fifth Avenue, Belk

What's to Love: Phipps Plaza is Atlanta's upscale shopping haven. This is where you'll find all of the top designer outposts, including shops like Jimmy Choo, Juicy Couture and Tory Burch. There are also high-end boutiques like Intermix and Jeffrey. This is the spot to go for some serious splurging.

Perimeter Mall

Department Stores: Nordstroms, Macy's, Bloomingdales, Dillards

What's to Love: In my humble, shopaholic opinion, Perimeter Mall is the most well-rounded shopping mall in Atlanta. It has a good mix of lower and higher-priced options to choose from, a strong selection of department stores, shops like Forever 21 and Charlotte Russe for the younger crowd and a variety of restaurants for when you need to recharge. There are also a lot of stores in the surrounding centers, from REI to DSW, to take care of all your shopping needs. That, paired with its convenient location that is accessible by both GA-400 and I-285, make Perimeter my top pick for Atlanta-area malls.

Northpoint Mall

Department Stores: Macy's, Dillards, JC Penny, Sears

What's to Love: Northpoint Mall is a strong contender for best suburban mall. Located in Alpharetta, it is large, has a wide variety of stores and is in an area that offers lots of additional shops and restaurants around it. It also has a carousel, which is always a big hit with miniature shoppers along for the ride. While Northpoint doesn't have all the high-end department stores, it does have all the basics you'd expect, including the popular H&M, and there is no shortage of shopping options here.

Cumberland Mall

Department Stores: Sears, Macy's, Costco

What's to Love: Cumberland Mall would be my last-ditch effort when it comes to popular Atlanta shopping malls. They have made some improvements in recent years, opening a variety of attractive restaurants surrounding the mall, but when it comes to shopping, there are just better options out there. You will find a couple of classics like Gap, H&M and Victoria's Secret, but in general the options here are tired and outdated and the shops are smaller than they would be elsewhere.
